We source the very best models from across the globe, to be able to exclusively offer a completely new rebuilt classic, elevated with the technology of our future, powerful and silent, all electric. The results is the quintessenza, a worry-free daily drive, preserving the world of our children, with better safety & vehicle dynamics. It features a much improved acceleration, more than sufficient range and… it is brand new: you can configure it just your way!
WHAT IS A QUINTESSENZA?
The quintessenza is true to the original and based on its earliest looks, the sexy sixties. This 'car' is what we refer to as a quintessenza, a true original that is totally rebuilt - in house - by our dedicated team of craftsmen, and elevated with a silent and powerful electrical drivetrain.
Like other restorers, we begin with an original car. All key components are painstakingly replaced or restored so that they are as good or better than new. These components are fused with a very powerful, industrial standards electrical motor and batteries.
We use the latest paint and anti-corrosion techniques to guarantee a perfect, long-lasting finish. Then the wiring and many electrical parts are automatically replaced prior to the final assembly.
HAS IT STILL ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE ORIGINAL CAR?
We truly feel that it does. It is original in many ways. The outside looks, the inside consistency, the driving experience. Imagine if you could have sat down in the sixties and ordered your car to be hand-built by top craftsmen to your precise specification using todays factory reliability and performance modifications and you begin to understand how the quintessenza has evolved and what it represents.
HOW EASY IS IT TO HAVE A QUINTESSENZA SERVICED AND MAINTAINED?
Very easy. First of all, because it really does not require much maintenance at all. Our engines are industrially designed to last for 5 million kilometers and our batteries are from the highest todays standards with only very limited capacity depreciation. And the original body is fully protected to 21st century standards that provide maximum peace-of-mind for daily use. Therefore we give warrantee for the first 100.000 km of 5 years of use.
Also, we will remotely monitor the status of the electronics in your car to cater for maximum prevention. We honestly believe that the only maintenance you will encounter are new tires and windscreen fluid. And for the rest, it is just an original, that can be serviced at all specialists around the globe. For clients in Europe or abroad, a quintessenza can readily be serviced by a wide range of classic car specialists.
WHAT ABOUT PARTS FOR THE QUINTESSENZA?
There is a fantastic network of parts specialists who carry an immense range of stock as the original is still wildly and increasingly popular.
WHAT IF I LIVE OUTSIDE THE NETHERLANDS AND I AM INTERESTED IN BUYING A QUINTESSENZA?
We have seen much overseas interest. We are only ten minutes from Eindhoven Airport and a little over an hour from Amsterdam Schiphol. Once you see a car you like and are satisfied it is worth a visit to inspect and drive the car, all you have to do is call and we will make the appropriate arrangements.
IS THE QUINTESSENZA ALL ABOUT PERFORMANCE?
No. The premise for Voitures extravert to launch a product, in the case the quintessenza, is to offer an original classic icon provided with modern day standards of driving, handling and all-important reliability. The original without modifications was launched on the basis of being able to achieve over 200 kilometers an hour, which is fast enough for most people. And its original acceleration of 8.7s from 0-100 is experienced as very sportive. In the quintessenza we’ve maintained its maximum speed and strongly improved its acceleration to 6 seconds (a more then 30% improvement). However, where the original offers a very peculiar driving experience (still appreciated in its own right), for many the mechanics made it hard to handle. The quintessenza, with its improved performance but foremost its improved weight balance provides for much better drivability and stability. It simply drives faster, safer and more comfortable all at the same time.
FOR THE SAME PRICE YOU COULD BUY A 60s ORIGINAL, SO WHY BUY A QUINTESSENZA?
We find that many enthusiasts want to own what is to many the most beautiful car in the world, but without it’s inherent vulnerabilities and pollution. A classic iconic car that will be your daily drive, that will bring you everywhere without having to worry about its wellbeing and the impact that it has on the planet of our children. And then there is exclusivity. There is simply no classic original in the world that is so perfected, tailor made and future-forward designed as the quintessenza. And the availability is very limited, as we’re not is the race to make the most cars in the world, just to make the best. All quintessenza's are individually built and numbered for each owner. And it still qualifies exceptionally well as a daily drive. Compared to modern daily cars, the quintessenza is likely to see significantly lower rates of depreciation.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SPECIFICATION OF QUINTESSENZA I WOULD WANT?
You meet and talk with the Voitures extravert team. You drive our demonstrator, and if you wish, also talk to other owners. We’ll make sure that you make the choices that you will be comfortable with.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD MINE?
Because we use a highly efficient production process, it will approximately take 9 months to build a quintessenza. While it is being constructed you are proactively updated on its progress to closely involve you with all aspects of the process.

DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE A FULL RANGE OF CARS TO VIEW AT YOUR PREMISES?
Yes and no. We’ll have one demonstrator available that you can test drive and experience the ‘holy trinity’: its gorgeous looks, its consistent internals, its fabulous driving behavior. Other examples will be available for visual inspiration and in our design studio you can select the details you prefer.
IS THERE A PRICE DIFFERENTIAL BETWEEN THE MODELS?
The prices depend on the model you choose and on any accessories that will be fitted.
YOU OFFER UPGRADED ORIGINAL CARS. HOW WOULD I KNOW WHICH ONE TO SELECT?
Once a client has decided on a car, together we can establish what accessories would be preferred. This will vary from model to model and client to client. Many people are used to driving modern cars and their expectations are far higher than those of 40 years ago. In fact, much of our rebuilding already incorporates various sympathetic improvements and upgrades during our rebuilding process.
Some clients are well versed in the original and, depending on the car itself and from their knowledge of the model, know exactly what details they want. But many also rely just on our advice.
WHY ARE YOU FOCUSING SO MUCH ON RELIABILITY?
The purpose of our upgrades is to offer the reliability and drivability associated with the cars of today, without compromising the spirit and style of the original. They provide carefree remote motoring and complete peace of mind, in a car that will be a source of pleasure for years to come. Remember, the original is from an era where drivers lived with regular minor faults - something that would be totally unacceptable today, given the standards of reliability we have come to expect from modern cars.
Apart from the maintenance-free electrical drivetrain components, we offer significantly improved cooling, heating and power steering systems. All substantially more efficient then older alternatives, so they will add to your cars performance.
DO YOU SELL BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT HAND DRIVE CARS?
Yes, as of July 2020 we do! However, depending on sourcing availability, RHD prices may differ from the standard listing.
COMPARING PRICES, WHY DOES IT APPEAR THAT YOUR CARS ARE SOMETIMES MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THOSE IN THE CLASSIFIEDS OR FROM CERTAIN DEALERS?
The classics market is extremely difficult to understand when simply comparing advertised asking prices. As always, the devil is in the details. And when it comes to restoration, this is not different: many cars fall far short of their owners interpretation of "perfect / fully restored". Online classic portals tend to offer cars of the average standard commonly available, and not to the exceptional new build quality we specialize in. The combination of over 15 years experience in electric mobility and our relentless quest for quality and finishing enables us to offer only the very best cars possible.
Not only do we select the most suitable donor cars, we regard them as only the starting point for cars which Voitures extravert will supply to clients.
WHAT ABOUT BRINGING MY OWN CAR, AND YOU MAKE IT ELECTRIC?
Unfortunately, this is not an option we can offer today. It is crucial that we select a donor car that is suited to bring it up to the quintessenza level. We will do a full tear-down, acid bath and KTL treatment for proper protection, trim work, re-chroming, to name a few. From a cost perspective, bringing your own car is mostly less attractive then it may seem.
SHOULD I ALWAYS BUY A QUINTESSENZA OR ARE THERE MORE OPTIONS AVAILABLE?
We will have the option available to lease the quintessenza. It will allow our customers to use the quintessenza on a daily basis and maximize the fiscal opportunities that this lease offers. This way, it is possible to enjoy the quintessence for a few years and after that, pick another one, or a completely different model from Voitures extravert (yes, more models are in the pipeline…)
