A true comeback of an iconic classic

As you may be aware of, Voitures extravert is here to give new life to iconic classics, to color the streets again with cars that we know and love. But those cars are rapidly disappearing from daily life, mostly to be replaced by boring vehicles. Safe, efficient, but boring.

It has become very rare, that we experience a car that is both classic, new, and inspiring. But yesterday was that day.

Invited by Rik Hettema and Lars-Peter Dijkstra from exclusive car specialist Munsterhuis in Hengelo, we visited their newly opened Alpine showroom together with one of our first customers.

Our visit was a delight. From the warm welcome we received from Rik and Lars-Peter to the Alpine blue showroom design, from the Ferrari & Maserati workshop tour to the final test drive with the A110, we had a really great time.

We were truly impressed by the Alpine. Not only by its 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but mostly because it has a lot of character. Thanks to its great performance-lightweight ratio, it really handles great and is a joy to drive. The 7-speed automatic gearbox enables a super soft-ride, but when the sports-button is activated, accelerating it to 100kmh in 4.5 secs is just ultimate fun. My dad ensures me that it’s a true incarnation of its 60’s predecessor :-)

Rarely does a car come along so devoted to the driver, effectively delivering both fun and comfort at the same time.

Thanks guys for the great experience, hope to see you soon in our Design Lab for a quintessential testdrive. We'll surely make use of yesterday's inspiration!

By the way, we’re looking forward to the custom designed front and rear suitcases!
